The purpose of this manuscript is to construct anucleon-nucleon (NN) potential based upon effectivefield theory in configuration space (r-space). Thescheme follows a philosophy of standard model.Chiral Perturbation Theory is the specific name ofthe method. The two-nucleon potential drived fromthe theory is called the chiral NN potential. Suchpotentials in momentum space have been constructedby other researchers. However, many microscopicnuclear structure calculations are conducted inconfiguration space. For this purpose, an NNpotential represented in r-space is needed. Theprevious chiral r-space potential is proposed by C.Ordones, L. Ray, and U van Kolck (1996). However,the potential lacks quantitative accuracy, andtherefore not suitable for nuclear structurecalculations. Thus, it is important to seek morequantitative chiral r-space NN potential. Thisresearch shows the basic frame work and sometechnical details for the construction of such apotential.
