Galt ein Sandboden lange als nicht bewirtschaftbar bzw. höchstens für Forstzwecke nutzbar, stellt W. Kette hier nun zwei Pflanzen vor, die gut auf Sand wachsen und gedeihen: zum einen die Lupine, zum anderen die Serradella. Kette führt ein in Art und Charakter der beiden Pflanzen, bevor er sich ihrem Anbau, ihrer Düngung und Pflege sowie ihrer Verarbeitung widmet. §Der Anbau von Lupine und Serradella wird einem Sandgutbesitzer vielleicht nicht zu großem Reichtum verhelfen, doch gelingt es Kette, den schlechten Ruf des Sandbodens zu retten und neue Nutzungsmöglichkeiten aufzuzeigen.§Sorgfältig bearbeiteter Nachdruck der Originalausgabe von 1891.
