Anhand von 2637 Heiratsinseraten aus den Jahren 1953 bis 1988 wurde der Geschlechtsrollenwandel in der BRD untersucht. Der Arbeit liegt die Annahme zugrunde, daß sich in Heiratsinseraten solche geschlechtsspezifischen Erwartungen manifestieren, die als Geschlechtsrollen bezeichnet werden können. Analysiert wurden Angaben zu den finanziellen Verhältnissen, zum Beruf, zur äußeren Erscheinung, zur gewünschten Altersdifferenz, zur persönlichen Charakteristika, aber auch Vorstellungen zur Partnerschaft. Insgesamt sind die Geschlechtsrollen, wie sie sich in den analysierten Anzeigen darstellen, verhältnismäßig konstant geblieben.
