Diese Veränderung kann molekulargenetisch bestimmt werden. Als Therapiemöglichkeit wird Betroffenen die operative Entfernung beider gesunder Brüste empfohlen. Dies ist nach dem derzeitigen Stand der Wissenschaft nicht (mehr) zu rechtfertigen.
