Afro-centric feminist theories emerged from the imperative to contextualize literary texts in African culture in order to obtain the true meanings of the feminist intents in the texts. This book re-emphasizes this point and examines four popular Afro-centric notions of feminism in Africa, namely Stiwanism, Motherism, Womanism and Nego-Feminism - with the view to ascertaining their congruity with African culture.
